Liceo U Conducts Research and Community Extension Enrichment Seminar

 

  The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research and Publication Office (RPO), and Liceo Center for Community Development (LCCD) joined forces in holding an Enrichment Seminar on Research and Community Extension last August 17, 2015 from 1:30 to 4:00 in the afternoon. It was attended by research and community extension coordinators from the University which was held at Room NAC 203, Liceo de Cagayan University Main Campus.

 

Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants and resource speakers and Dr. Lesley Casas Lubos, Research and Publication Director and MDFA Misamis Oriental Chapter Head, introduced the resource speakers.

 

Ms. Jannina de Jesus Alfante, XU-KKP-CSLP’s Organizer, shared about her experience and expertise in community involvement and how the Kristohanong Katilingban sa Pagpakabana-Social Involvement Office (KKP-SIO) of Xavier University involves the faculty and students to its community outreach activities anchored on XU’s research and social outreach agenda.

 

Mr. Danilo A. Gualberto, Technical Director of the Mosquito Dengue Fighters Association (MDFA) Misamis Oriental, afterwards discussed about Autocidal Ovitrap surveillance and control of Dengue Vector Mosquitoes in Cagayan de Oro City. This was the second time that the MDFA collaborated with RPO in its drive to help alleviate the plight of dengue-infested communities in the Philippines through dissemination of information.

 

Dr. Felsa A. Labis, Director of the Liceo Center for Community Development, gave the closing remarks. Ms. Noemi M. Abellanosa was the master of ceremonies.

 

The enrichment seminar was organized to strengthen Liceo de Cagayan University’s advocacy to research and community involvement.
