Liceo hosts NOMCAARRD’s 28th Regional Symposium
on Research and Development Highlights

  Liceo de Cagayan University through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Publication, and Extension hosted the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) 28th Regional Symposium on Research and Development Highlights 2016 at the Grand Caprice Convention Center on December 6-7, 2016.

           

  The two-day program started with an Invocation and the Philippine National Anthem led by the Liceo de Cagayan University G-Clef Society while the opening remarks was given by Dr. Maria Estela B. Detalla, the Consortium Director. Dr. Lesley Casas Lubos, VPRPE of Liceo de Cagayan University introduced the evaluators and participants followed by the intermission number by Liceo U Folkloric Dance Troupe. A message was then delivered by Dr. Maria Luisa R. Soliven, the chairperson of the Regional Research and Development Coordinating Council and President of Central Mindanao University. Dr. Rodolfo O. Ilao, the Director of Agricultural Resources Management Research Division of PCAARD was the keynote speaker. Dr. Ilao presented the unified national research agenda and the need to support regional development through strengthened partnerships of all sectors in research and technology services.  The opening program was followed by the parallel sessions on presentation of research, development, thesis/dissertation papers, and posters of studies conducted by the different member agencies. There were 18 papers presented under Research Category, seven (7) studies on Development Category and three papers (3) on Thesis/Dissertation Category. The studies presented focused on agriculture, aquatic, forestry, and natural resources.

 

   During the closing program, the Liceo de Cagayan University Folkloric Dance Troupe performed another cultural dance. Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon, Liceo U consultant and graduate school faculty gave the closing remarks. Ms. Maria Elena C. Reyes, the Associate Director of Research and Publication Office served as the Master of Ceremony during the two-day event. The following also served as members of the working committee of Liceo de Cagayan University: the LCCD Director Dr. Felsa A. Labis, Ms. Leilani G. Pimentel, Ms. Mitz S. Peleyo, Mr. Mark Kurt Lloyd C. Mondilla, Mr. Bernard A. Guitierrez, Mr. Salm C. Dumanlag, and Ms. Ma. Carmelle D. Quinto.
