Liceo U Faculty Attend National Scientists’ Lecture Series

   Select faculty members of Liceo University attended the “Trailblazers in Science” a Lecture Series by the National Scientists sponsored by the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines and the Department of Science and Technology Region 10 at the Pryce Plaza Hotel on October 6, 2016. The Regional Director of DOST X, Mr. Alfonso Alamban welcomed all the guests and participants and Ms. Luningning E. Samarita-Domingo, Director IV of NAST PHL gave an overview about NAST PHL. The highlight of the activity was the presentation of the research outputs of the national scientists. Dr. Lourdes J. Cruz presented her research on “From Killer Snails to Drugs” and Dr. Angel C. Alcala presented an overview of the researches he conducted on Biodiversity. Some members of NAST in the region also presented their studies. The presentation was then followed by an orientation on Scientific Career System.

 

   The participants from the University were headed by the Research and Publication Office Associate Director, Ms. Maria Elena C. Reyes and select research coordinators and faculty, namely: Mr. Brian Tubongbanua of the College of Information Technology, Dr. Alice Comahig of the College of Engineering, Mr. Christian Magdale and Mr. David Almarez of the College of Arts and Sciences, Mrs. Emma Dejarme of the College of Nursing, and Ms. Jonna Micah Jimenez from the College of Pharmacy. Also present were the faculty members from the College of Nursing headed by their Dean, Dr. Judith Dalman, Dr. Simer Belacho, Mr. Roberto Alli, Ms. Dolly Banluta, Ms. Ma. Reyna Lasacar, Ms. Emmie Basas, and Mr. Art Porter Azcuna.
