Liceo U Administrators Present Collaborative Research in Thailand

   Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. Lesley Casas Lubos, the Vice President for Research, Publication, and Extension presented their collaborative study on “Empowering and Engaging Communities: Citizen Science on Climate Change Awareness” in the Southeast Asian Association for Institutional Research (SEAAIR) 16th Annual Conference held at Suan Dusit University, Thailand last September 21-23, 2016.  The study aimed to increase the typhoon survivors’ climate change awareness to ease the victims’ level of anxiety about climate change and to enhance their emotional coping capacities by increasing their knowledge, developing positive attitude and behavior on climate change. Results show that there were significant increases in their knowledge, attitude, and potential behaviors regarding climate change.  

   Liceo de Cagayan University, as a knowledge-creating higher institution of learning, promotes dynamic and innovative processes for research and encourages and supports its administrators, faculty, staff, and students to conduct scholarly studies and present them in international, national, and local research fora. Through the Office of the Vice President Research Publication and Extension, the University is dedicated to the facilitation and development of both knowledge and community based researches and the dissemination and implementation of the research outputs to the target communities.
