Liceo U’s select research students representing all the colleges in the university competed in the Oral Research Presentation and Poster Exhibit during the 2nd Intercollegiate Research Contest held on March 25, 2015, at the University AVR 3. The contest, organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Research and Publication Office with the cooperation of all of the college research coordinators as part of Liceo U’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, was aimed at strengthening the University’s effort to engage students in quality research. In the opening program, Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches, Vice President for Academic Affairs, stressed in her message the University’s mission to foster a culture of research excellence.

 

   The Panel of Judges was composed of highly esteemed research experts from both private and government institutions, namely Engr. Desiderio R. Apag III of CHED Region X, Dr. Oliva Canencia of Mindanao University of Science and Technology, Dr. Andrea G. Azuelo and Dr. Raul C. Orongan of Central Mindanao University, Dr. Apolinar T. Paulican of Mountain View College, Prof. Neil Martin of MSU-IIT, Dr. Nick Pañares of Macabalan National High School, Dr. Ray Butch Mahinay of Tablon National High School, and Mr. Ramir M. Balquin of NEDA Region X.

 

   RPO Director Dr. Lesley Casas Lubos, assisted by the college research coordinators, gave the medals to the winners during the awarding ceremony. Mr. Ignatius Joseph N. Estroga, a member of the faculty of the College of Education, was the master of ceremony.
