Liceo U student researchers bag Regional Awards in Health Research

    Liceo U researchers were recognized as Regional Winners in the Regional Health Research Contest conducted by the Northern Mindanao Consortium on Health Research and Development (NorMinCoHRD) on July 24, 2016 at Grand Caprice, Limketkai Mall. Recognized as Best Researchers were students from the College of Nursing, namely: Angeline D. Beltran for the study “The Effect of Iodized and Sea Salt Used as Control Agents for Mosquito Larvae in the Top Four Barangays in Cagayan de Oro City with Highest Dengue Incidence” and Mr. Julius Denn Mikell P. Suazo for the research “Knowledge, Attitude, Beliefs, and Practices on HIV/AIDS Among Men Having Sex with Men.” Dr. Lesley Casas Lubos, the Vice President for Research, Publication, and Extension was also given recognition as Best Research Mentor for coaching and guiding the researchers during the research contest. Dr. Lubos was the Research Adviser of Ms. Beltran’s group and Dr. Judith Dalman, Dean of the College of Nursing was the adviser of the group of Mr. Suazo. As a policy of NorMinCoHRD, only the research study leaders of winning researches were given recognition together with the coach. The winners are the official entries of Region 10 in the 10th Philippine National Health Research System on August 9-11, 2016 at Puerto Princesa City Palawan.
