Dr. Judy Marie R. Zoleta, Department Chair of the Natural Sciences Department of Liceo de Cagayan University won 2nd Place (Research Category) during the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) 29th Regional Symposium on Research and Development Highlights. Dr. Zoleta’s study was on “Assessment of Cagayan de Oro River: Basis for Intervention.” Her study was selected by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Publication, and Extension as the official entry of the University since it is aligned with the consortium’s theme for this year: “Convergence for Inclusive Growth and Resilience in the AANR Sector.”

     The regional symposium, participated by researchers and cluster representatives from member institutions of   NOMCAARRD, was held at Binahon Agroforestry Farm (BAFF) at Songco, Lantapan, Bukidnon last December 5-6, 2017. Ms. Maria Elena C. Reyes, RPO Associate Director and Knowledge Management Cluster representative from the University also attended the regional symposium. Mr. Henry S. Binahon, the owner of BAFF and the National President of Magsasakang Siyentista sa Pilipinas delivered the keynote address of which he highlighted the various roles of a farmer as entrepreneur, ecologist, scientist, educator, and agri-architect.
