Liceo U Researcher Takes Home Best Paper Award from
SEAAIR 17th International Annual Conference

Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches, the Vice President for Academic Affairs with co-author Mr. Jayson S. Digamon, a public school teacher and a graduate of MAED-ELT of the School of Graduate Studies, recently won the Best Paper Award titled “Schlecty’s Student Engagement Continuum in Work Team Experience: A Pilot Study,” a study that tested a Student Engagement Model.

Organized annually by the South East Asian Association for Institutional Research, this year’s SEAAIR 17th Annual International Conference was held at PSB Academy, Singapore last September 6-8, 2017.  As reported by SEAAIR President, Associate Professor Dr. Teay Shawyun, for “SEAAIR 2017, 146 researchers from fourteen (14) countries submitted a total of 95 papers that underwent rigorous reviews leading to the final acceptance of 54 full papers.”

   

This year’s annual conference awarded one (1) Best Paper and five (5) Outstanding Papers.  This is the second time that Dr. Cinches won the Best paper in SEAAIR. Last year, her collaborative study on “Student Engagement: Defining Teacher Effectiveness and Teacher Engagement” also won the Best Paper Award during the SEAAIR 16th Annual Conference held at Suan Dusit University, Thailand last September 21-23, 2016.

 

Liceo de Cagayan University has just recently become an Institutional Member of SEAAIR. It was founded in Bangkok, Thailand in 2000, as a regional affiliate of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), which was established in 1996 and based in Tallahassee, Florida. AIR is the world’s largest professional association for institutional researchers with 4,000 members. SEAAIR is now based on Suan Dusit University, Bangkok, Thailand.
